Drabble A Day vol.25

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Break for V-day stress to subside. UGH MY EYETWITCH IS BACK.

IF MY HAIR FALLS OUT AGAIN I WILL TOMAHAWK A BITCH IN THE FACE.

1-31-13: Running Away
Characters: Torran MacKenna

He thought about his sister sometimes. All the time, in a way; there were so many things she would never get to experience. Torran carried the weight of them all on his shoulders.

He was quiet and stoic most of the time, but there was dark anger below the surface that could be goaded out of him all too easily. The scent of the ocean still made him sick, memories floating like his sister’s body.

He knew he couldn’t live like this forever—so did his parents. They never tried to stop him when he chose to head to London.

2-1-13: Picking at Pieces
Characters: Torran MacKenna

Before his sister died, Torran was very much the typical boisterous young lad of the village. He played football with his mates, had a fight here and there, and forgot about it the next day.

Now, football was the only thing that could bring out a glimmer of the boy he used to be. He didn’t connect to the boys he played with the way he used to, always keeping them at arm’s length lest they find out what really brought his family to Dublin.

He didn’t know what he wanted from life anymore. It had already destroyed him once.

2-2-13: Happy Accident
Characters: Shayden Hashimoto, Nozomu Ito

Sometimes, Shay felt too much at once to sort it out through music. That was when he went dancing.

The beat pulsing into his bones, the music drowning out everything else, and the inevitable warm body against his made him forget long enough to reset. Most times. Sometimes it just stuck him with more heartache later.

Tonight, he was definitely drunk. But TY had had an amazing night, and it was impossible not to celebrate. He hadn’t planned to pull Nocchi out to the floor, it just happened. He hadn’t planned for it to be perfect, either; it just was.

2-3-13: Lost and Gone Forever
Characters: Christopher Larkin, Keiichiro Sasaki, Ryo Maeda

Chris watched in frozen shock as Kei ran off, carefully dragging Ryo along behind him. Ryo tossed a quick smirk over his shoulder, and then they were gone.

His brain hurried to tell him Kei was simply worried about Ryo’s possibly sprained wrist, that his best friend wasn’t choosing his worst enemy over him. But he knew Ryo had some sort of thing for Kei, and that Kei still insisted Ryo bullied because he was misunderstood.

Chris sank where he stood, legs failing him like his words. This hurt more than anything else ever had; he’d never felt more alone.

2-4-13: Justified
Characters: Justin Nanami, Christopher Larkin

J.J. knew it was wrong, but he didn’t care. His dad was right, of course—the “justice” of the courts never delivered.

Chris’ abuser had been older than him, but still a minor. Two years in a juvenile jail and he’d been let loose with a sealed record. It may have happened more than ten years ago, but to J.J., that was more than a decade with no consequences, while Chris had been left to pick up the pieces.

Chris knew what his intentions had to be, but he’d given J.J. the name anyway; that was blessing enough for him.

2-5-13: Made To Be Broken
Characters: Tomoki Yonemura, Shizuka Inoue

Yone didn’t mind that Zuka liked turning himself into a woman from time to time. He actually quite liked that side of him, considering that was what’d led to their first encounter. Plus, he made one hell of a hot woman.

He wouldn’t call himself a masochist, but he also enjoyed Zuka’s sadistic side. There wasn’t much he didn’t like about Zuka, really, and he wasn’t sure if that was troubling or not.

The only thing they didn’t talk about was them. Yone had to wonder—maybe hope—if Zuka was just as afraid to define them as he was.

2-6-13: Loveseat
Characters: Torran MacKenna, Cillian Catherwood

Holding Cillian was very different from holding a woman. Probably; Torran wouldn’t know from experience. He wasn’t sure if he ever would, now.

That was alright with him. It had taken this long just to figure out he’d fallen for his best friend—he didn’t exactly feel the inclination to shop around.

He liked holding Cillian. His friend was slighter than he, and he fit so well against him and in his arms. There were other things he liked doing with Cillian now, but holding him had come before anything else. It wasn’t something you could do with just anyone.
