Drabble A Day vol.18
Almost forgot I still had to post these today... hah. >.> Got my fake Christmas tree up today though, so yay~.
Wow I thought last week had too much Eddie in it, but this week? DAMN!! HOWEVER, I am pleased to announce we finally have...
11-22-12: Home For The Holidays
Characters: Eddie Valentine, Cillian Catherwood
It was nearing winter break. Eddie was eager to go back home, though school hadn’t been all bad. He hadn’t expected to make any friends at all, let alone find one in Fish Keeping.
He knew what Cillian’s home life had been like; it was something they had in common, bad families. He knew why Cillian looked strained as the holiday approached.
After their last class, he pulled Cillian aside, fidgeting nervously despite already having Carter’s permission.
“Cillian… would you, um… want to maybe… you know… come back with me for break?”
Cillian didn’t bother signing; hugging didn’t require words.
11-23-12: Positive
Characters: Carter Valentine, Yukio Katsukawa
Yu was pregnant.
From a scientific standpoint, this was the most fascinating thing Carter had ever experienced firsthand. From a personal standpoint, he’d never been more scared.
Not for himself, but for Yu. Yu was a man—mostly—and was not designed to carry a baby. Carter couldn’t even think past his concern for Yu to think about becoming a father, and what that would mean for him.
Back at home, he held Yu silently for hours; they both had thinking to do, but the decision was Yu’s. Whatever he chose, Carter knew he would be there till the end.
11-24-12: Autumn Walk
Characters: Christopher Larkin, Alex MacKinzey
Chris was used to being alone. He didn’t mind it as he got a little older; more socially inclined people became incapable of feeling comfortable on their own, he noticed. That was one problem he didn’t have.
He sat serenely on a rock in the middle of the park, looking out over the red and golden leaves falling from the trees, and the utter stillness of the small pond. It was getting chilly.
“Sorry, the line was a bit long,” Alex said, joining him on his rock and smiling as he handed Chris his cider. Being together was nice, too.
11-25-12: Eddie the Pirate (Part 1)
Characters: Eddie Valentine, Carter Valentine
His mother’s story had been that he’d been born prematurely; but the shock of dark hair on Edwin’s head told his father, and everyone else, another story.
They couldn’t dispose of him, so they kept him hidden away, claiming poor health. Between the abuse and neglect, his growth was stunted, and he never knew a happy day in his life.
Carter, his light-haired, blue-eyed, older brother, was the heir to the Valentine fortune. He also actually cared for Eddie; that was Eddie’s downfall.
They took him in the night, bound and gagged, and left him at the port.
11-26-12: Eddie the Pirate (Part 2)
Characters: Eddie Valentine
When Eddie awoke, his head had a throbbing lump at the back, and he was in a dirty alley beside a pub. He had nothing but the clothes on his back, the coins in his pocket, and a letter inside his coat informing him he had been stripped of the Valentine name, and to never show his face again.
He thought of Carter and cried. This was his own fault; he knew something would happen if he got too close to the heir of the family, even if Carter invited it. He only wished he could have told him goodbye.
11-27-12: Eddie the Pirate (Part3)
Characters: Eddie Valentine, Makoto Nanami
Tears often felt like they could last forever, but they never did. Once Eddie was done crying, he was still in the same horrible situation; he might not have been welcome in this world, but he couldn’t simply lie down and leave it.
He managed to beg himself a meal and blanket, and wandered around the port. He heard two men outside the pub talking about a captain recruiting for his ship, and figured it was his only chance.
The man was huge and intimidating as hell, but Eddie had nothing left to lose; Captain Nanami gave him the job.
11-28-12: Eddie the Pirate (Part 4)
Characters: Eddie Valentine
Eddie’s body wasn’t ready for the true rigors of pirating; even just working in the galley as he did was hard, and he spent his first ten days sick and sore. Still he worked, needing to prove to himself and his captain that he deserved to be here.
He never stopped working, even weeks and months later. He grew strong, and learned to be quick with a sword and amongst the rigging. He mostly battled potatoes and rationing, but he carved a place for himself amongst the crew.
His home couldn’t be with his brother; but he was welcome here.

3. o(>.<)o AlexChris is so cuuuuute, why? Also, for some super weird reason I had to read this twice, because the first time I read it as Alex was flying a kite and it landed near Chris and he was apologizing for the line being too long that it got away from him... wtf brain...

4-7. Ugh inoooo. Maybe the pirates can go kill the shitty people in his family (who you know totally told Carter he'd died or something, not that Carter would believe it) and then they could live happily ever after~. I told you I went nuts with his backstory though. >.>
